On Sunday, Premier Gary Doer pledged that if you take care of an aging parent or disabled family member, you'll get a tax credit.
The new tax credit would be modeled after a similar break offered by the Quebec government. The $1,020 tax credit would go to Manitobans who care for family members at home instead of calling in a home care worker or placing the family member into a nursing home.
